Cedar is a durable, decay resistant wood that endures our northern climate better than any other species - as much as 5 times better. It's stability means minimal shrinkage, twisting, and warpage compared to other woods. Due to its natural oils that resist decay, toxic treatment is not necessary, allowing the natural beauty of the wood to show through.
While other woods must be painted or stained to be preserved, cedar can be left to weather to a silver gray making it virtually maintenance free. If you prefer color, cedar can be painted or stained for added durability and beauty.
